Courses are scheduled based on requests from WYSA Districts and Clubs across Wisconsin. Requests for courses will be granted with a guarantee of the use of a suitable facility and based on the existing schedule and instructor availability. Registration for any course is open to anyone who wishes to register.
Things to keep in mind when requesting to host
Access to specified facilities is a vital part of all coaching courses. A classroom and field space are required for all Y, Grassroots and National ‘D’ License courses.
Y courses are held indoors on a field or playable space no smaller than 18 yards by 30 yards.
Grassroots courses may be held outdoors but an indoor back up field is mandatory. US Soccer requires the following field sizes for each 12 candidates in a course.
- 4V4 | 18 yards by 30 yards
- 7V7 | 25 yards by 40 yards
- 9V9 | 25 yards by 45 yards
- 11V11 | Full-size, lined outdoor field or a fieldhouse
Players
Players of the appropriate age and numbers must be present during the practical coaching sessions of all Grassroots and National ‘D’ License courses.
Candidates
All candidates must register online. Each course requires that a minimum number of participants be registered two weeks prior to the scheduled course date to avoid cancelation. The maximum number of candidates of any course depends upon the facility size and availability of instructors.
Club Presidents/District Representatives – let us know that your Club or District is interested in hosting a course by completing the above request to host form.
